Serving those who serve their country is important to us. Here, we offer step-by-step instructions to guide our veteran students through the enrollment and financial aid processes.

Nine Steps to Enroll at San Jac

  1. Get Admitted

    Complete your San Jac application.

  2. Check Placement Test Requirements

Do you need college placement testing? Possibly not! Most veterans are exempt from placement tests. Talk with a VA Educational Planner to learn if you’ll need these. However, all first-time college students and legacy students should complete the Accuplacer Pre-Assessment Activity.

  3. Get Your Meningitis Vaccine

If you’re under 22, you’ll need to submit proof of a bacterial meningitis vaccination to the Admissions Office before you register for classes. We make it easy with on-campus shots.

  4. Set Up Your SOS Account

Your account with our Student Online System will help you throughout your time as a San Jac student.

  5. Attend Orientation

Let us introduce ourselves! New Student Orientation is mandatory for all first-time college students.

  6. Request Transcripts

You’re required to submit all high school transcripts if this is your first time in college or if you’re applying for financial aid. In addition, you’ll need to submit college or military transcripts, if applicable.

    Mail all transcripts to:
    San Jacinto College, Records Management
    13735 Beamer Road
    Houston, TX 77089

  7. Review Your Benefits

Start early! Approval from VA education benefits may take up to 45 business days. Need help? Schedule an appointment with us to learn about veterans education benefits.

  8. Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

Apply for aid in addition to your VA benefits. Your first step: Complete the FAFSA. Don’t forget that San Jac offers scholarships, too! Are you eligible? Find out here.

  9. Meet with a Program Advisor

Schedule a meeting with a program advisor at San Jac who can talk you through degree plans, course requirements, financial aid, and more.
