Procurement Department awarded for 10th consecutive year

PASADENA, Texas — San Jacinto College’s Contracts & Purchasing Services once again has received the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP) award from the National Procurement Institute. The College was one of 198 agencies in the United States and Canada, and one of 16 higher education organizations to receive this prestigious award. This is the tenth consecutive year – and the eleventh time – the team has won the award.

The AEP award is earned by agencies that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence and encourages continued organizational development and improvement annually. The continuously evolving AEP criteria are designed to measure and provide benchmarks for public procurement best practices. This annual program recognizes organizations’ procurement departments that embrace innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership. 

“Once again, San Jacinto College’s procurement office has been recognized for outstanding fiscal responsibility,” said Damon Harris, chief procurement officer. “Our team is committed to protecting the College's finances and making sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely by keeping our operations efficient and following all the right procurement guidelines.”

The National Procurement Institute promotes advancements toward excellence in governmental and institutional procurement through education, certification, and networking of its membership.
