If you wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree after graduating from San Jacinto College, you may want to consider programs in the Western Governors University (WGU) College of Health Professions. Clinicals are unpaid positions where you are supervised by a health information technology professional at a health care facility. Your clinicals are scheduled during the day shift based on the availability of the site supervisor. The program cannot guarantee a specific site, but every effort will be made to accommodate you. You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the clinical site.
Before enrolling in the clinical course, you must provide documentation of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella, complete the Hepatitis B vaccination series, and complete annual Tuberculosis screening. Drug screening may also be required by the clinical site.

The Health Information Technology accreditor of San Jacinto College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Management has been reaffirmed through 2029.
