At San Jac, you’ll build skills in health information, medical coding, and healthcare technology used in today’s healthcare facilities. The CAHIIM-accredited program also prepares you for the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam.

If you wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree after graduating from San Jacinto College, you may want to consider programs in the Western Governors University (WGU) College of Health Professions. in a healthcare setting. An experienced pro will be there to help guide you.
Clinicals are unpaid positions where you are supervised by a health information technology
professional at a health care center Your clinicals are scheduled during the day based
on the availability of the site supervisor. The program cannot guarantee a specific
site, but every effort will be made to accommodate you. You are responsible for your
own transportation to and from the clinical site.

The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) has accredited the San Jacinto College Health Information Technology Associate of Applied Science degree. This accreditation is reaffirmed through 2029.
