March 13-14: Daytime school field trips for sixth graders.
March 13, 6-8 p.m.: Mind Trekkers Family Night. Open to all ages and free to the public!
The annual Mind Trekkers in STEM festival is one of San Jacinto College’s largest STEM outreach initiatives. This two-day event offers festivities that provide sixth-grade middle school students opportunities to interact with, explore, and view demonstrations of fast-emerging science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) activities.
Mind Trekkers is held at the San Jacinto College Central Campus LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy, and Technology (CPET). Each year, nearly 6,000 sixth graders participate in the event. To ensure Mind Trekkers is a success, more than 250 college employees and industry volunteers facilitate the science experiments and demonstrations.
The daytime activities are reserved for school field trips while the Mind Trekkers Family Night welcomes families from across the Houston area. Family Night features the same fun activities as the daytime events, allowing families to enjoy a unique STEM experience together.
Best of all, Family Night is open to all ages and free to the public!
